Motivational Monday: Live Life

MM: Live Life

Living life, seems to be the message that is supposed to be sent out to all of you this morning.  My morning cup of Yogi Tea had the quote:

Work, but don’t forget to live.

Then when I was opening my list of quotes the first one that showed up was the one in the picture:

The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.  –Henry Miller

Are you aware of life around you?  So often we can become lost in our schedules, our to-do lists, the task at hand, that we forget to be aware of life around us.  To be aware we must be present.  Present to realize the spring flowers blooming, present to realize the blessings that are around us everyday, present to know when a friend or stranger needs our helping hand, present to see miracles that are constantly occurring.  And sometimes we need a break from “everyday” to remind us to be aware.  Whether it means taking a walk on your lunch break, treating yourself to a massage or taking that trip you always dream about.

It can also be more of a challenge to be joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware of life when the bills are coming in, there is a baby crying in the background, your health is not where you want it to be, but these are the best times to fully live life.  Because if we can live life when it comes to those mundane tasks…we really can live life.  Work to have the capital to pay the bills and go on adventures, but remember to live.  Live everyday.  We are blessed with beauty all around us…soak it in!

What makes you feel alive?  What makes you joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware?

I don’t usually share pictures on Monday, but this picture is a perfect example of soaking it in.  Jon and I had hiked to the top of a steep hill near Durdle Door.  We were standing in a cloud, with mist accumulating on our coats and glasses.   The wind was whipping by us, with the power to practically hold you upright if you leaned into it.  The faint sounds of the sea crashing on the cliffs below, reminded us how high we were.  I put my arms out, to hug in life.  I sensed it was hugging me right back…
