Motivational Monday: A Fork in the Road

when you come to a fork in the road

On a recent hike we came to a fork in the road and had to decide which way to go.  It made us think how often we can get stuck at the fork in the road.  We can wait at the fork worrying about going down “the wrong path,” or some people might even turn around not wanting to risk anything.

I have a tendency to have long internal debates at the fork in the road, wanting to make the right decision first.  Jon always tells me, “You can’t just stand there, you have to choose a path.  Whether it is right or wrong, you can always go back and choose a different path.”  He is always urging me to make decisions and go with it.

On our hike we chose to go to the right which led to a personal home.  We chose a path, which some might say was the “wrong path” but we got to see sheep grazing, which just happens to be one of my favorite things about England.  We also didn’t have to go back to the fork in the road, we were able to cross a field to quickly get back on track.

How often in life do you get stuck, worried about making the “right” decision?  No matter which path you choose, you can make the most of the lessons life presents you.

Are you at a fork in the road?  Take it!
