Tourist for a Day: Hopping On & Off

Hop on & off bus

One of the things that my family wanted to do while in Rome was the Hop On & Hop Off bus.  In all the travel we have done, we have never taken a Hop On & Off bus.

Jon ended up getting the tickets from a guy on the street that offered us a good deal.  We ended up saving 40-80 Euros depending on what company you went with.  Normally I would not recommend buying tickets from anyone on the street, but in this case it worked out.

The tour was a lot of fun.  It was a nice way to get an overview of the city and see buildings and sights from a different perspective.  Things just look different from the top of a bus.  It was also a nice way for the kids to get to see more, with out walking all over the city.  An added bonus, kids under 10 on the bus were free.

Here are some of the pictures from sights we would not have seen, if we didn’t take the bus:

And the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, is unbelievable from any level.
