Parks of Poole: Upton Country Park

Today we visited Upton Country Park and I was reminded again why I love England so much.  The park is open to the public and has acres of manicured gardens, open fields for dogs to run freely, play areas for kids and even a shoreline for fishing or bird watching.  There is something special about having such beautiful parks open for everyone to enjoy, no matter your walk of life.  And the best part was people were enjoying this beautiful treasure!

Couples were pushing their prams, older couples were linked up arm-to-arm walking through the paths, kids were playing and climbing on trees, friends were out throwing balls to their dogs in the open fields, photographers were snapping shots of the flowers and wildlife, mums were having tea parties while sitting on the playground and grandparents were out bicycling with their grandkids.  The beauty of living life, enjoying friends, having fun with loved ones, being outside and taking in nature, were all around.

Upton Country Park is also home to the classically Georgian, Upton house, built in 1818.   There are events that take place in the home and on the grounds weekly, which you can find on their website.  Today there was a book sale in the house and Jon and I got to stock up on some good reads for the next few weeks.

And the great news is everything was starting to bud, signs that Spring is here despite the weather.  Soon everything will be bursting with color and a new season will begin!

Daffodils in full bloom, spring is here!
