Bonjour Paris

Eiffel Tower

Bonjour from the City of Lights!  It doesn’t matter how crusty your eyes feel and how unhuman-like you feel from jet lag, as soon as you arrive off the train and step onto the city streets of Paris, you are alive.

I had memorized the map enough to get us directly to the apartment we are renting for the next week in the 7th arrondissement.  I didn’t do to shabby, if I say so myself!  We arrived at the Invaledes and just followed the Eiffel Tower until we found our home for the week.  And much to my surprise we were only 1 block from Rue Cler, which is a famous shopping street (as seen recently on House Hunters International).  Filled with cafes, food vendors and a few retail spaces.  The energy was palpable.

Being so close to the Eiffel Tower we had to go there first!

Then we went on a overview walk of the city.  Starting on the Champs Elysees, through the Tuilerie Gardens and finishing at the Louvre.  Just a few miles to keep us awake as long as possible.

We finished our walk with a fresh baguette with delicious French salted butter.  It literally had chunks of sea salt…we could get used to this.
