Best Tip EVER for visiting St. Andrews

feature jon St andrews

We have to thank Kevin, one of Jon’s old bosses that gave us the best tip when he found out we were in Scotland.  If you visit St. Andrews on a Sunday, the Old Course becomes a public park and you can walk all 18 holes!

I have to be honest I was hesitant to get too excited because I thought maybe it was just when Kevin was visiting.  Having more of an American capitalistic mind-set, the thought of taking what could be one of the biggest revenue producing courses and shutting it down on a weekend day for people and DOGS to walk on seems crazy!  We are thankful they don’t think the way we do because we got to enjoy the course for free!

There are some things you get excited for in life, not because you have much interest, but because your spouse or someone you love is having the time of their life….that was today.  Seeing Jon walk the fairways of the Old Course at St. Andrews.  Listening to him talking about how challenging the hole was or where you would have to hit your ball to have a successful next shot.  It made the experience a 1,000 times better for me.  It is just a great feeling watching some one you love, so excited!

Just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures of Jon.  I will post more this coming week on St. Andrews.  Happy Sunday!
